Get More Home Improvement Leads With A Professional Email Address
Call me judgmental, but whenever I get an email from someone using a hotmail address for their business I can’t help but wonder why! But what is even worse, is when someone uses a family email like [email protected] for their business correspondence.
If you are one of those home improvement contractors, remodelers, or companies using a hotmail address–you probably don’t think its a big deal. But let me tell you….IT IS! Why…Simply put, it’s an image issue. Would you ever scribble down your name and phone number on the back of a napkin and hand it out? No, thats why all of carry business cards. In today’s business world, emailing someone from a hotmail address can be equated to scribbling down your number on a napkin. It just isn’t professional. Professionalism is what is driving home improvement leads.
Please note, i’m not advocating against having a hotmail, yahoo, or any other email address–I’m just stating use those for your personal emails, and get a real business email now! Its 2014! And who of us doesn’t want to improve the quality and quantity of their home improvement leads? Each business should have their own website domain name (www.mybusiness.com) and an email address on that domain name ([email protected]). Having both a website domain name and an email address, gives you an immediate professional image in the mind of today’s consumers. And that–results in a higher rate of home improvement leads. Who would you buy from? Fix your email to get more home improvement leads. Take this example- You are an owner of a home improvement company, and you meet with two product manufacturers. Both reps have similar products and pricing. Company 1 has a wonderful website, professional business cards, and you can reach Joe (your sales agent) at [email protected]. Company 2 has a dated website, and a business card that has Joe’s cell phone and email as [email protected]. Yes- his wife and him share the same email. What company would you rather do business with? Company 1. Now relate that to your customers.
No More Excuses. Fix your email to bring in more home improvement leads.
Whenever I talk to businesses regarding how important a professional email is to home improvement lead generation, I’m mostly met with some excuses. My ultimate favorite include: 1. I already know how to use my email. I get it, change is hard. But everyone already knew how to use faxes and they adapted. You should too! Technology changes, and the best way to capture more home improvement leads is to keep up with that change. 2. I don’t have my own website or domain. Honestly if you want to be taken seriously in today’s business world you need a website. Having your own website is professional, and professionalism is the key to getting more home improvement leads. If you need help getting your own domain or setting up your website The Marketing Corner has a ton of resources that can help you. Contact The Marketing Corner for more information on your site–we’re more then happy to help. 3. I don’t know how to do it. Once you register your domain name, getting and adding email addresses isn’t that difficult. If you don’t know someone that can help you accomplish this, again, The Marketing Corner has a team of individuals that can help you set up emails for your home improvement company. Wouldn’t it be nice to have all your home improvement leads come from [email protected]? 4. But everyone already knows my email address. I get it, and actually I sympathize with you on that. However, people can still send email to your old address, and you can still retrieve it. If you don’t change over now– are you ever? Stop putting off what you can do today. A professional email is the key to getting higher quality home improvement leads. Trust me, your customers don’t want to spend thousands of dollars on a home improvement job with [email protected]. They want to do business with a professional company that they can trust. And the best way for them to trust your company is with a professional email address. If you’re reading this blog- I’m guessing you’re probably one of “those” people with a hotmail address.
